Landscape III
The city seems to be a labyrinth that can be ordered. The world is an infinite series of curvatures or inflections, and the entire world is enclosed in the soul from one point of view.
― Gilles Deleuze, The Fold: Leibniz and the Baroque
Traces that people leave behind have always intrigued me. What is the story behind these traces? They are proof of human presence without humans present. Like archeological finds from an unknown past or an unfolding future, open to interpretation, creating a new story to be explored.
These traces form the foundation for my new work in this publication: where digital spraypaint paintings, assemblages and urbanity photography coalesce.
This is the ‘final’ part of my Landscape trilogy a series where, in the last five years, I’ve explored the urban landscpape in detail, in different formats and contexts. Resulting in a new avenue to traverse and a reacquaintance with painting as a medium.
