Punk At Palais

La Morsure Des Termites

The Not Another Punk Book was part of the La Morsure Des Termites show at Palais de Tokyo, Paris. I felt honoured to be included with some of the graffiti classics, whether it is books, artists and writers. The show ran from 16/06/2023 till 07/01/2024, and was curated by Hugo Vitrani.

What did graffiti do to art? The exhibition La Morsure Des Termites acts through approaches that are parasitic, nonsensical or based on friendship to attempt a corruption of art history through the prism of graffiti. Here, graffiti is neither a subject, a culture, nor an aesthetic, but rather an experience, a tactic, an imaginary of the disorder, an underground current of thoughts, an affect.

The exhibition articulates a number of interrelated themes: (1) the necessity of public disorder, (2) vandalism as care, (3) the political, social and spiritual dimension of writings, (4) the specter of painting, the memory of phantoms.

Excerpt from the exhibition text.
