Memories From A Teenage Room (1970 - 1979)

‘What were the dreams of my aunts and uncles?’ Based on this question, Matt Plezier delved into the world of Moluccan teenagers’ bedrooms in the 1970s. A place belonging to a generation in diaspora; far from their homeland, on the margins of Dutch society.

Dreams To Remember is a collection of hidden stories, overlooked histories, and personal traditions. Told through the artefacts that populated these rooms. The teenage bedroom, a space where identity, resistance, and memory converge.
